How many Wales's are there in a Helmand?
Every time I read a Helmand article its size relative to Wales increases. Perhaps we should ask the MoD to pin down this basic geographical fact or is this a manifestation of mission creep? And what is it with the Wales thing anyway? After so many Wales's when does it become 'the same size as Scotland' etc? I think the Army had a mothballed plan to suppress the Welsh based on their days in the Brecon Beacons and just dusted it off.

Wales according to worldatlas.com is: 20761 sq km
Helamand according to 'The Senlis Council security and development group' is: 37107 sq km
So would be fair to say twice the size but as you pointed out why Wales. Has been confusing me too!
