Instead of just raising the profile of amputees let's thank Heather for raising the profile of men trapped in physically abusive relationships. Hopefully it will not only give them the courage to come forward and accuse their female partners but also that they might be taken seriously by the police and social services. Physically abusive women should be made to leave the home and custody of any children given to the non abusive partner. The divorce can follow once the abused and the children are safe.
