Premature bed blockers
Ok - it appears that it is apparently too expensive to keep babies under 26? weeks alive even although some go on to be entirely fine. www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-2105990,00.html But there has to be a point at which it just doesn't make sense. Now do we demand that medical science drive that down that age relentlessly at ever increasing cost or do something else - i.e if you're born alive then you have a right (like eveyone else) to infinite resources. Well, plainly not - the answer would appear to be related to extending fertility treatment to allow gestation outside the womb. Since fertilisation is possible how are we progressing on the next steps or is there a moral block? Driving down the age can only make sense if incubation becomes like further gestation if you get my drift - That's my view.
